Natio Skincare – Natural Australian Beauty

Take a look at what Sally Jaxx has to say about Natio Skincare

Whilst I love Fashion, clothes, shoe, handbags etc. Creams, lotions and potions are more beneficial than those jeans or shoes that will only last one of two years. Our faces are with us for life and so need care and attention. A very good friend of mine, Peter Sherlock, who knows everything there is to know about the beauty business and has spent over 20 years working within it. What this man does not know is not worth knowing.

This Friday at 5pm on Bid Tv we are bringing to you a skincare range called ‘Natio’, that Peter really believes in (I take all my tips from Peter). Now, I am not someone that will stand and talk about something if I have not given it a go. I have taken samples home and I have been using this beauty regime.

FIRST IMPRESSION –Large bottles, so plenty for your money. Simple, clean and crisp packaging and they smell amazing. I remember my Nanna had unbelievable skin and she swore by Rose Water and this is one of Natio’s ingredients, hooray. Rose water is brilliant for all skin types, it great for all skin types, nourishes and hydrate the skin, as helps acne and sensitive skin . Natio has outsold Estee Lauder in Australia, this must be good stuff!!

RESULTS – My skin has felt softer, cleaner, hydrated, refreshed and smells amazing (so much so my boyfriend commented, and that never happens). TIP – I have been pouring a little toner in my hands and pattering all over my face and neck under moisturiser and it feels so refreshing.

CONCLUSION – Using such great products makes you look forward and not dreading removing makeup and cleansing in the morning, taken all in all about 3 minutes morning and 4 to 5 in the evening. This is very well priced, you are not going to blow your budget, you can still spoil yourself to that handbag those shoes etc.

SO go on spoil yourself and feel great for the summer without breaking the bank.

I’ll see you this Friday the 30th of March on BIDTV with Natio at 5pm.

Alan Coxon’s Friday 25th November Recipes

Vegetarian Broad Bean patties with Muhammara dipping sauce

Ingredients:

  • 450g tin of broad beans
  • 6 spring onions, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 6 tbsp finely chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp very finely chopped fresh coriander
  • Oil, for frying
  • Lemon wedges, to garnish

Method:

  1. Drain the beans and remove the skins. Place in a food processor and process until ground.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients, except for the oil and blend to a smooth paste. Leave to stand uncovered for 15 minutes, then chill in the fridge. The paste will dry out in the fridge and the falafel will be easier to handle
  3. With moistened hands, take a small lump; flatten lightly to form a rissole shape and place on a tray. Prepare the remaining bean mixture in the same way
  4. Heat 1cm oil in a deep frying pan and fry the rissoles, turning frequently until golden brown.
  5. Drain on kitchen paper
  6. Serve garnished with the lemon wedges and a red pepper dip such as muhammara.

Muhammara Dipping Sauce:

  • 6 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 75g walnuts, finely chopped
  • 50g fresh breadcrumbs, blended with cold water to a purée
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • Pinches ground cumin
  • 1 red pepper, pureed in a food processor
  • 1 red chilli

Method:

  1. Heat the oil in a deep frying pan and gently cook the onions until soft and golden. Add the remaining ingredients and salt to taste.
  2. Continue to cook gently on a low heat for about 10-15 minutes until the ingredients are well blended and thickened. Remove from the heat.

To serve:

Tip the muhammara in a bowl and garnish with nuts.

  • 3 plum tomatoes
  • 600ml tomato juice
  • 250ml white wine

Method:

  1. Place the shallots, garlic, cucumber, peppers and tomato in a food processor and blend for about 10 seconds until finely chopped, but not puréed.
  2. Pour into a bowl and stir in the tomato juice, white wine, olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Cover and chill in the fridge.

Pour into shot glasses.

Burmese style Curry with sweet fried Potatoes

Ingredients:
For the sweet potatoes:
  • 1.6kg sweet potatoes
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 200ml corn oil
  • 100g butter

For the curry:

  • 675g Pork (chops or fillet)
  • 2.5 cm ginger, peeled and grated
  • 6 green or red chillies
  • 4 shallots, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp curry paste
  • 1 tbsp sesame or corn oil
  • 1 lime, zest and juice
  • 600ml chicken stock
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200C/gas 6. Boil the sweet potatoes in lightly salted water for 5 minutes. Drain and dry thoroughly.
  2. Dust the potatoes in cumin.
  3. Heat the oil and butter together in a roasting tin on the hob. Roll the potatoes in the fat and cook for 3-5 minutes, until they are beginning to colour lightly. Transfer the tin to the oven and cook for a further 25 minutes, until crisp and golden.
  4. Meanwhile, make the curry. Cut the lamb into 4cm cubes and place into a bowl along with the ginger.
  5. Remove the seeds from the chillies, finely chop the flesh, and add to the lamb. Stir in the shallots, garlic, sugar, turmeric and curry paste, and mix well.
  6. Heat the oil in a heavy-based frying pan and add the lamb. Cook until the meat has browned and the curry is fragrant.
  7. Stir in the remaining ingredients and simmer for around 20 minutes, until the lamb is tender.
  8. Serve the curry and potatoes with a dollop of crème fraiche or plain yogurt.

Normandy style Moules Mariniere

Ingredients:

  • 1.75kg/4lb Fresh mussels
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 2 shallots, finely chopped
  • 15g/½oz butter
  • Parsley, thyme and bay leaves
  • 100ml/3½fl oz cider
  • 120ml/4fl oz double cream
  • Handful of parsley leaves, chopped
  • Crusty bread, to serve

Method:

  1. Wash the mussels under plenty of cold, running water. Discard any open ones that won’t close when lightly squeezed.
  2. Pull out the tough, fibrous beards protruding from between the tightly closed shells and then knock off any barnacles with a large knife. Give the mussels another quick rinse to remove any little pieces of shell.
  3. Soften the garlic and shallots in the butter with the bouquet garni in a large pan big enough to take all the mussels – it should only be half full.
  4. Add the mussels and wine or cider, turn up the heat, then cover and steam them open in their own juices for 3-4 minutes. Give the pan a good shake every now and then.
  5. Add the cream and chopped parsley and remove from the heat.
  6. Spoon into four large warmed bowls and serve with lots of crusty bread

Bon appétit!

Customer Review: SALON INC. Haircare set & Hairdryer

We sent Dawn Simpson the SALON INC Volume Haircare set and 1800w Ionic hairdryer. After using them for a week here is what she has to say:

SALON INC Product Review - Dawn Simpson

SALON INC Volume haircare set I used over a week or so to get the full effect of the products.

The Volume Shampoo was lovely to use felt very luxurious and rich. I only used a small amount and worked into my hair then rinsed off for 30secs then re-applied. It didn’t weigh down my hair like some shampoos can.

Then I used the Volume Conditioner I only used it on the ends of my hair this smelt lovely as did all the products and made my hair feel like I just had a wash from the salon.

I also used the Volume Leave-In Conditioner I left in overnight and then washed off in the shower the next day. This was wonderful made my hair feel so soft and added shine and was easier to manage.

The Thickening Lotion was very good made my hair feel fuller and stronger as I had some split ends but felt this strengthened my hair.

Wow! SALON INC 1800w Ionic hairdryer is fantastic!

This smoothed my hair down and wasn’t fly away like my old hairdryer. What’s more it wasn’t too hot that it would burn my scalp. It was hot enough to style as desired and felt like a proper hair salon hairdryer not like a tiny one; this one had some weight in it but not enough to ache your arm and hands it was fine to hold and style with 10 different settings which is a must for all different hair types.

I love these products and would recommend them all to anyone to try, you won’t be disappointed.

After using these products for a few weeks I have noticed a real difference in my hair and others noticed a good change too :)

Thanks again,

Mrs Dawn Simpson
